FEATURES
The Temporary Graduate subclass 485 visa is a work visa for international students who have completed 2 years of study in Australia (at least 92 weeks course). It can last from between 18 months and 4 years depending on your situation. It is a good way to extend your stay in Australia to improve your chances of becoming eligible for a permanent or provisional skilled visa.
There are two pathways/stream under Subclass 485 visa. Some may be eligible for the Graduate workstream and some can be eligible for the Post-Study workstream. Graduate work stream visa can be granted for 18 months and Post Study Work stream visa duration depends on the level of study you completed in Australia.

ELIGIBILITY
Subclass 485 Graduate workstream and Post-study work stream both have different criteria. However, common criteria for both visas are as below:
COMMON CRITERIA

Must have health insurance in Australia
LOCATION
Primary applicant and family members must be in Australia at the time of application.
Family members who apply for this visa after the main applicant has been granted the visa may be in or outside Australia when they apply, but must not be in immigration clearance.
FAMILY MEMBERS
You can include the following types of family members in your application:

If you already hold a Subclass 485 visa, you can apply for family members to join you in Australia on 485 visas. They cannot apply online.

- The Graduate Work stream is for international students who have recently graduated with skills and qualifications that closely relate to an occupation which must be in MLTSSL
POST STUDY WORK STREAM REQUIREMENTS
- The Post-Study Work stream is for international students who have recently graduated with an eligible qualification from an Australian educational institution, regardless of their field of study.
