Business Talent Visa
The Business Talent Visa (Subclass 132) is a permanent resident visa for those who are willing to establish or develop a new or existing business in Australia. It requires the applicants to have sufficient funds and genuine intention to reside in a particular Australian state or territory. The primary applicant must be nominated by the State or Territory Government in the particular stream, namely: 1) Significant Business History or 2) Venture Capital Entrepreneur.
Common Criteria
To be eligible for 132 visa, the applicant must:
- Do not have a history of involvement in business activities that is not generally acceptable
- Be nominated by a state or territory government
- Submit an Expression of Interest through SkillSelect and be invited to apply
- Meet health and character requirements (including the dependent family members)
- Meet additional requirements of the stream applied
Additional Criteria
There are two different streams under Business Talent Visa.
Significant Business History Stream
If you belong to a high-calibre business background or have been part-time and looking to start your own business in Australia, you can apply for the visa under this stream.
- Unless the age waiver applies, you must be less than 55 years old.
- You must overall have had a successful business career.
- Your business minimum annual turnover should be AUD 3 000 000/-
Venture Capital Entrepreneur Stream
This visa is for people who have sourced venture capital funding from a member of the Australian Investment Council (AIC).
- Secured at least AUD 1 million in funding for a high-value business idea
- Entered into an enforceable agreement with an Australian venture capital firm for the funding
- Funding must be for business development or expansion of a business in Australia
- Must have Functional English or pay the second instalment
