Code of Conduct

The Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA) in Australia has a Code of Conduct that sets out the professional and ethical standards expected of registered migration agents. The Code of Conduct is designed to ensure that migration agents act in the best interests of their clients and uphold the integrity of the migration advice profession.

Some key principles of the Code of Conduct from OMARA include:

  1. Acting in the best interests of clients: Migration agents must act honestly, fairly, and diligently in the best interests of their clients.
  2. Providing accurate and timely advice: Migration agents must provide accurate and up-to-date advice to clients regarding their visa options and the migration process.
  3. Maintaining confidentiality: Migration agents must maintain the confidentiality of their clients' information and only disclose it with the client's consent or as required by law.
  4. Avoiding conflicts of interest: Migration agents must avoid conflicts of interest that may affect their ability to provide impartial advice to their clients.
  5. Complying with the law: Migration agents must comply with all relevant laws and regulations governing the provision of migration advice in Australia.

Adherence to the Code of Conduct is mandatory for all registered migration agents under OMARA. Failure to comply with the Code of Conduct can result in disciplinary action, including suspension or cancellation of registration. By following the Code of Conduct, migration agents can maintain the trust and confidence of their clients and uphold the reputation of the migration advice profession.
